The Pilot’s Prayer
Lord, as this plane is lifted high,
From earthly
bonds set free;
To penetrate the glorious sky,
So is my prayer to
thee.
Grand me judgment, first, I pray,
To know just what to
do;
Give me knowledge of the way;
And grant me courage too.
I humbly ask you guard my hand,
Upon the
throttles there;
As I feed in the energy,
That lifts us
in the air.
Grant me confidence, Lord, and yet,
As I strive to
reach my goal;
I pray that I will not forget,
That you’re
the Captain of my Soul.
